    Physiotherapy

Children are new, live organisms that develop very quickly and this is the main factor that sets and directs the way of physical therapy intervention.

    Special Education

A child is experiencing learning difficulties when, although s/he possesses normal intelligence is not able to achieve a learning goal in a typical manner unlike his peers and shows deficiencies in the basic psychological processes that are necessary for the comprehension and use of the oral or written language.

    What is dyslexia?

Dyslexia is a learning difficulty that mainly affects reading, comprehension, writing, spelling, and written expression. It is not a disease, and it is not related to low intelligence. It is possibly caused by dysfunction of the central nervous system, may be hereditary, and prevents the child from achieving a specific learning goal, even though they have normal intelligence and are exposed to the same educational stimuli as their peers who succeed in that goal. A child with dyslexia usually reads slowly and syllable by syllable, in a flat tone, without understanding word groupings. They may misplace stress, omit, transpose, confuse, or add letters or syllables. In writing, they struggle significantly, work slowly, and often present signs of dysgraphia. They may reverse letters or numbers, misplace stress or leave words unstressed, fail to leave proper spacing between words, and make numerous spelling and grammatical errors. They often have difficulties with spatial and temporal orientation, poor memory, struggle with problem-solving and performing arithmetic operations, have trouble focusing and maintaining attention, possess a limited vocabulary, and find it difficult to follow simple instructions.

    How does pediatric physiotherapy help?

Sensory Integration is the brain’s ability to organize sensory information in order to use it effectively. (Ayres, 1972)

    What is Sensory Integration?

Occupational therapy involves the “therapeutic” use of work, self-care, and play activities with the aim of enhancing independent functioning.

    Parent Counseling

    Psychological Support

Learning disabilities occur when a child, despite having normal intelligence, is unable to achieve a specific learning goal that other children of the same age are able to accomplish.

    Early

    Intervention

Early Intervention is implemented by specialized physical therapists and occupational therapists to full-term or premature infants and high-risk infants in order to prevent and treat (early) their pathology. The program is aimed at newborn and young infants who come to our Center either after the detection of neurological symptoms (abnormal prenatal and perinatal history) or after the diagnosis of cerebral palsy.

    Assesment Tools

Assesment Tools forms the foundation for targeted therapeutic intervention and the overall support of the child. By using scientifically validated tools such as the WISC-III, Athena Test, PEDI, GMFM, GMFCS, and Foot Pressure Analysis, specialists accurately assess cognitive, motor, language, and functional abilities, identifying areas that require enhancement.

The results of these assessments serve as the basis for designing individualized intervention programs, aiming to develop skills, strengthen autonomy, and improve the child's daily functioning.

Collaboration among different professionals (speech therapists, occupational therapists, physiotherapists, special educators, and psychologists), combined with active family involvement, ensures a holistic approach that meets the unique needs of each child.

Our goal is to provide meaningful support for the child’s development and integration into their social and educational environment, through early diagnosis and evidence-based intervention.
